About the Engraver
Sandra Snaddon
I am a Fellow of the Guild of Glass Engraver, and live in North Yorkshire, England, UK. I have been engraving for over 25 years.
During this period, I have undertaken a variety of glass engraving training courses with Internationally renown tutors.
When engraving, I use a micro motor electric drill with diamond and stone burs, which gives the smooth effect that I prefer for my engraving. My preferred technique for engraving is the 'intaglio' style, which gives a deep 3D effect to the engraving.
I mainly produce specialised work for exhibitions and commissions. The main themes that I like to produce are buildings, the human form and animals, especially horses. Many of my pieces contain humour, in order to make the finished article light hearted and interesting.
My work can be found in museums and private houses throughout the UK and America.
